Industrialization of Smart Contract Development for Ethereum through Automatic Generation from Conceptual Models. Phase 2 - Functionality Enhancement

We are pleased to announce that we have recently been awarded a grant for the project to expand and improve a tool for the automatic generation of Smart Contracts for the Ethereum blockchain..

This grant is part of the SME INNOVATION PROJECTS (INNOVA-CV) program, under the SME INNOVATION. INNOVATION IN ICT (INNOVATeiC-CV) 2023 - 2nd Call, from the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness (IVACE) of the Generalitat Valenciana, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Description and Goals

The objective of this project is to increase the expressive power and query capabilities of our transformation engine for Solidity, adding new functionalities that will enable the generation of more advanced smart contracts aligned with the growing demands of the market.

Specifically, the new version of the Transformation Engine will:

  • Expand the subset of primitives supported in conceptual modeling
  • Support advanced queries and interaction scenarios
  • Define more sophisticated constraints and validation
  • Optimize resource consumption
  • Fully automate the development of Smart Contracts
  • Extend the automatic generation of REST APIs

Project observable results

The result of the project will be a new version of the Integranova Smart Contracts Transformation Engine — a product capable of generating Solidity smart contracts with a higher level of complexity and optimization than the current version.

Key achievements will include:

  • Generation of more expressive Smart Contracts, with support for aggregation, filtering, and advanced validation operations
  • Improved efficiency and reduced economic cost by lowering gas consumption through more optimized queries
  • Creation of advanced queries that allow access to multiple properties and collections in a single operation, enhancing interaction with the blockchain
  • Expansion of the automatically generated REST API, facilitating integration with third-party applications and other Integranova solutions
  • Increased productivity and software quality by eliminating manual tasks and minimizing human errors in smart contract development
  • Contribution to the mass adoption of blockchain technology by providing a tool that lowers the entry barrier and enables less experienced developers to build advanced solutions
